Activities at Lawton Manor Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Cameron

Activities Coordinator

This is Chloe and she is our Activities Coordinator here at Lawton Manor. Her job is to physically and mentally stimulate our residents by offering a range of activities for them to enjoy. She wants to get everyone involved and make our home community and atmosphere as positive and welcoming as possible.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that Chloe holds very close to her heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them. A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Minibus as we create new, special memories together.

Life at Lawton Manor Care Home

Punch n Judy Show

Residents and family members have enjoyed an afternoon picnic and a fantastic Punch and Judy show

Nicci Jo entertained everyone with her punch and Judy show as well as singing and delivering some very funny magic tricks.  Chef Nick created a lovely picnic and a homemade cheesecake too!

,

Wheely Boat Trip

Residents have enjoyed a couple of days out on the Wheely boat at Overwater Marina in Audlem

We enjoyed a lovely ride along the Shropshire Canal in the sunshine and enjoyed lunch at the Cafe, "Bridge 80"

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.

We operate an All Welcome policy.  Chef's cakes are a particular talking point and not to be missed!

Pub trips with friends

Resident good friends Paul and Carl enjoyed an afternoon trip making great use again of our own minibus.

The views are spectacular from The Ash Inn at Mow Cop and it remains one of our favourite local pubs in the area
