Activities at Lakeside Care Home

Our activities staff each bring their own strengths to the table here at Lakeside, which results in a varied list of social events being offered to residents. We have regular outings to restaurants for lunches, afternoon tea & cakes, and through the summer months, we have beach trips with ice cream and picnics, which residents request regularly. On a weekly basis, there is a variety of sports, musical entertainment, hairdressing, one-to-one sessions, exercise programmes, quizzes and PAT dogs available to those we support. On Monday morning each resident receives an activities programme for the week's events and can opt in and out of what they want.

My job is fun and very rewarding – and I love it! I regularly invite musicians, artists, bell ringers, gardeners, chefs, and various other entertainers into the home to bring joy to the lives of residents who are living here.

Life at Lakeside Care Home

Cheese & Wine Evening , Cheese & Wine Evening

Cheese & Wine Evening

We hosted our first cheese and wine evening, and it proved to be a huge recipe for success.

Residents and their guests were introduced to a whole new world of wine aromas and the best cheeses to complement a special evening. Residents tried their hand at identifying some of the more obscure cheeses and were surprised by how difficult it was to distinguish between the different wines.

As the practical session continued, both residents and guests alike learned ways to taste wines in a professional manner.

Everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed the evening and is looking forward to the next event.

Training at Lakeside

Staff members at Lakeside enjoy developing their skills and have a dedicated trainer on site who will teach and update them on various emergency situations.

Our ethos is that all our staff will be trained to respond to an emergency situation, should it arise.
