Hugh Myddelton House Care Home in Enfield
Hugh Myddelton is a very friendly nursing and dementia care home in Enfield, close to Southgate, located in a quite residential area. There are useful transport links into central London via the underground, which is 10 minutes walk away, as well as good bus links on the main road. Southgate boasts a Marks and Spencer food hall as well as an Asda supermarket, both convenient for residents’ shopping. The main shopping street is also close by.
Dementia Care
Hugh Myddelton House also has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
We have a cookery club once a week and a gentleman's club (sorry, ladies: no entry permitted) where male residents can discuss anything manly, facilitated by a male member of staff. We like to support reading and to this effect a reading club is a regular event, discussing the latest books and poems.
Our staff are highly trained in all aspects of nursing care. We cater for elderly frail nursing clients and their complex needs, including young persons with physical disabilities.
We would like to welcome you to visit us for a trial lunch or stay, and see for yourself our dedication to excellent elderly care. All food is freshly prepared by our chefs on a daily basis and we cater for special diets on request. Please call us - we are happy to discuss your requirements for respite, permanent or rehabilitative care.

Types of care
The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.

Ramona Stanciu
Hi, my name is Ramona, and I am General Manager here. Welcome to our website!
I have worked in health and social care since 2014, starting as a nurse. I have a number of years of experience in different roles managing care services for residential and nursing sectors.
I joined Barchester in 2016 as a Deputy Manager and the move has been a great transition, allowing me to fulfil my desire to be able to make a positive difference to people’s lives. This is a core value at Barchester; its a joy to be part of.
In January 2021, I was promoted as a General Manager at Hugh Myddelton House and, alongside my team, I am delivering excellent care to some very special people, involving loved ones along the way. In April 2022, I took over the General Manager position at Chorleywood Beaumont and am delivering excellent care alongside my team.
Hugh Myddelton is a great community filled with loving care, happiness and laughter.
