Activities at Herne Place Care Home

Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure are a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat is always be welcomed.

Sophie Glasgow

Activities Coordinator

My name is Sophie, I am the Activities Coordinator here at Herne Place Care Home. It is my duty to ensure all residents feel happy and content. I love my job because I enjoy seeing our residents smiling and having fun on a daily basis.

I enjoy getting to know all of our residents on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting. This allows me to get to know their hobbies and ambitions as individuals, and fulfil these with life enriching activities they appreciate and will benefit from.

Life at Herne Place Care Home

Music to our ears

The residents have recently been entertained by Rod Dexter and his partner.

The residents all said how brilliant they were and thoroughly enjoyed singing along to them.

Pamper Morning

There is nothing like a Friday pamper day, nails, massages and hair, already for the weekend.

Big Garden Birdwatch

Over the weekend our residents took part in the Big Garden Birdwatch. We enjoyed spotting all the different species we get in our beautiful gardens.

Celebrations for Bob Marley's birthday

This week our residents have celebrated what would have been Bob Marley's 78th Birthday.

Lots of our residents are big Bob Marley fans and still love his music. We’ve had a fantastic day listening to all his hits, finding out about his life and what influenced him. We watched a documentary about his life, he was such an incredible talent. This afternoon we had a Bob Marley quiz, along with a glass or two of rum punch!

Karaoke

We just couldn't get the microphone off of them!

Armchair exercises with the Right Step

The residents always enjoy their armchair exercises with The Right Step
