Activities at Forest Hill Care Home

We are a team of four activity organisers here at Forest Hill. We have a wide range of activities within the home including: musical entertainment, Arts & Crafts, Clubs for like minded people such as flower arranging and gardening, board games, baking (where the best bit is the eating afterwards!), and we celebrate special events throughout the year, such Easter, Mothers Day & Fathers Day and Christmas. We also have trips out on a regular basis using our own minibus, where we find out places of interest each person would like to visit. One of our more popular trips is to the local ice cream farm. We recently fulfilled one of our ladies dreams to visit the Chelsea Flower Show, something she had always wanted to do.

For our ladies and gentlemen who are nursed in bed, we have one to one times, which may be hand or foot massage or reading, & listening to music. We encourage families to get as involved as they can with activities and outings and have recently created a Terrace Cafe area, where visiting families can take their loved one for tea & biscuits and spend valuable time together.

Employee of the Month - July

Support Worker, Callum Grace, was thrilled to be named as our Employee of the Month. He has been nominated by relatives and his colleagues, who all stated that he is friendly, helpful and goes out of his way for residents. Callum is a relatively new member of the team, so this is a real accolade for him!

We are thrilled that staff member, Chi Chi, passed her OSCE and is now a registered nurse with the NMC. We are very proud of her here at Forest Hill and wanted to make her first shift as a nurse special! She was delighted with her flowers.
