Activities at Forest Hill Care Home

We are a team of four activity organisers here at Forest Hill. We have a wide range of activities within the home including: musical entertainment, Arts & Crafts, Clubs for like minded people such as flower arranging and gardening, board games, baking (where the best bit is the eating afterwards!), and we celebrate special events throughout the year, such Easter, Mothers Day & Fathers Day and Christmas. We also have trips out on a regular basis using our own minibus, where we find out places of interest each person would like to visit. One of our more popular trips is to the local ice cream farm. We recently fulfilled one of our ladies dreams to visit the Chelsea Flower Show, something she had always wanted to do.

For our ladies and gentlemen who are nursed in bed, we have one to one times, which may be hand or foot massage or reading, & listening to music. We encourage families to get as involved as they can with activities and outings and have recently created a Terrace Cafe area, where visiting families can take their loved one for tea & biscuits and spend valuable time together.

Memory Tree

Memory Tree

We’ve had some help from residents, relatives and volunteers to transform our garden. We planted a memory tree as a dedication to every residents and staff members that we have 'loved and lost'.  It’s a lovely way of commemorating all who have lived and worked at Forest Hill.

Employee of the Month - June

Employee of the Month - June

Congratulations to Matty Whitehouse, our Employee of the Month for June 2018. Matty has really gone the extra mile this month, helping out as a Carer, in addition to completing his administration duties. He has done everything with a smile and ensured that residents had a lovely month. Thank you, Matty, for all your hard work – it is really appreciated!

Royal Wedding Celebrations

We enjoyed celebrating the royal wedding here at Forest Hill. Everyone dressed smartly for the occasion and really got into the spirit of things. Thank you to to our Activities Coordinators, Sue and Mags, for coming into work on their days off to help residents enjoy this special day.

Congratulations, Harry and Meghan, from all at Forest Hill!

Grilling up a Storm

Here at Forest Hill, we took advantage of the lovely weather and had another BBQ. It was enjoyed thoroughly by all. There were plenty of burgers, sausages, pasta dishes and salads to go around.

A huge thank you to all the staff here at Forest Hill who work together to provide the best possible experiences for those we support. Without all of you, none of this would be possible.

Out & About

Out & About

Our spirits weren’t dampened by the lack of the Lancaster bomber flyover when we went to Ladybower. Resident, John, actually flew the Lancaster and many of the other people who came to Ladybower to see the spectacle wanted to speak to him about this. Despite the windy weather and the lack of aeroplanes, everyone had a great time and John particularly enjoyed his ‘five minutes of fame’!

Comedy Night

Comedy Night

Our two Activities Coordinators, Mags and Sue, took resident, George, to a comedy night recently to see his favourite comedian, Billy Pearce. He absolutely loved it and had a great time, as can be seen from the pictures! He’d like to say thank you to Sue and Mags for coming into work in their own time to take him.
