Activities at Forest Care Home

We have regular outings in our minibus to different places of interest including local country parks, the Tramway museum, Matlock and a number of Ice cream parlours. When we are not out on trips we are busy baking, making different craft projects, using the sensory equipment and Pet Therapy. We have entertainers who come in and get our residents up and moving.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Forest Care Home is fun and active. The activities at Forest Care Home are planned to be person centred and adapted to cater for everyone's abilities and all staff participate. For example one of our residents enjoys house work and everyday she assists the housekeepers to tidy around the unit.

Life at Forest Care Home

A Friendly Hello

Even our wildlife know how to socially distance themselves while visiting our residents!

Getting Creative

Our Play-Doh sessions are proving to be a big hit with many of our residents. Staff have also practised their cutting and baking skills.

Carers Week

We are celebrating Carer’s Week by providing treats such as cakes, chocolates, fruit and soft drinks daily to all our wonderful, dedicated carers.

We have also given them all 5 free raffle tickets to be in the chance of winning the raffle prize, worth £30.00. This is to be drawn Friday 12th June at 3.00 p.m.

Happy Valentine's Day

We arranged a romantic afternoon for our residents and families on Valentine’s Day. This included music entertainment, wonderful food and drinks and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves, comments were made, such as “It brought back nice memories”.

Residents Enjoy Playing the Piano

Here at Forest, we have kindly been donated an upright piano as we currently have a resident that is able, and was requesting, to have a piano to play. On outreaching to our community, we were kindly donated the piano, shown in the above attached photo. It Is already creating interest and bringing pleasure and joy to our residents and families alike.

Our Newest Resident

Maddie came to live with us this year. She’s beautiful, calm and loving and has made herself very much at home in our quiet lounge, where our residents can sit and cuddle her.
