Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

A Day at the Races

Residents were treated to a virtual trip to the races to celebrate Ladies Day at Aintree. They had so much fun that they decided to hold their own Grand National the next day! Staff at the care home pulled out all the stops to give the residents an afternoon to remember. They rolled out the red carpet, chilled the pink fizz and served delicious canapes so that residents felt like royalty. Our Ladies decorated their own headpiece of choice for Ladies Day, Our Men Made and decorated Horses Heads so they could be the jockeys for our race and the whole home joined in with the celebrations

,

Men's Club

Members of our Men’s Club at Cherry Blossom Manor enjoyed a visit to the pub for lunch and half a pint today. During their visit a debate started on which was best – Ale, Bitter, Larger or Guinness, even other users joined in our debate!

International Day of the Forest

Residents at cherry Blossom celebrated International Day of the Forest with a sensory session in their Poppy Lounge, they could see images of the forest, smell the scent of the forest, and hear bird song along with the sound of the trees moving.

We did this with small groups in the afternoon, during the morning the activity was taken to individual rooms.

Wellbeing Packs

Residents received lovely wellbeing packs from our friends at Spotlight UK as part of their project to combat loneliness.

A former husband of one of our first residents, when we opened 11 years ago, delivered the packages on behalf of Spotlight UK. He was so pleased to see some of the same happy faces, who used to care for his wife, still working here.
