Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.
We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.
We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.
We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Hello, I’m Alex the Activities Lead at Chalfont Lodge, working with me is Louise Doyle. I've worked at Chalfont Lodge for 8 years now. I originally started off as a volunteer and fell in love with the residents, families and staff. Since then, I've been an Activity assist, Activity Coordinator and now the head of the department! Activities are my passion and I love creating an environment where all of the residents can thrive and do what they love!

National Poetry Day
Today at Chalfont Lodge our Residents celebrated “National Poetry Day” with poetry readings by our Activities Team Member, Sally. Our Residents also took turns to read to each other.
Celebrating the Barchester Care Awards live on line
Many many congratulations to our Super Carer Zorica - she has won a Nationally recognised Award. Zorica is our Carer of the Year at this year’s Barchester Care Awards! Our Residents and our Staff have been watching the Awards live on-line. We are so fortunate here at Chalfont Lodge as we have the most dedicated Staff. Today we celebrate all our Staff and thank them for everything they do
Raj - Chalfont Lodge's multi talented General Manager
Music plays such an important part of our lives at Chalfont Lodge. We have our very own fantastic music therapist Louise, based here at our home and many of our residents and staff play and instrument or two and can hold a tune. This morning our residents were gathered in one of our lounges , listening and watching 'Greensleeves' being performed beautifully on our baby grand piano by our very own General Manager Raj. One resident said it was magical hearing him play.
Ambulance Crew love our home-made Brownies
Maria and Ellie, the fantastic ambulance crew , who bought our new resident to Chalfont Lodge yesterday, stopped to enjoy some delicious homemade pastries and in Maria's case brownies before they set off on their next mission. Thank you ladies, we have refreshments for all blue light services in our cafe.
Master's at Work
Rachel from our Activities Team often hold's an Art Masterclass for our resident's with artistic skills, here at Chalfont Lodge! During this recent session you could hear a pin drop! Everyone was concentrating. Our lovely Residents have such hidden talents ! Judge for yourselves! Today was Shells and Creatures.
Oktoberfest comes to Chalfont Lodge
Today at Chalfont Lodge our residents got into the Oktoberfest spirit outside on the decking, over looking our fabulous gardens and pond, Our residents enjoyed tasting some German beer, non alcoholic beer and German sausages. Everyone was in agreement this German tradition is great fun.
