Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home
Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.
We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Bluebell Park Care Home
Baubles
We all had a wonderful time joining Jennifer Owen - founder of Goldfinch Floral Studio for a creative floral bauble workshop.
Jennifer transported our residents to the out of the ordinary world of flowers and crafts and demonstrated how to create stunning hand-made baubles filled with dried flowers and grasses.
Our residents enjoyed filling and decorating their own glass baubles and their unique creations will be displayed at the home for everyone to enjoy.
Blenheim Palace
Our residents were thrilled to join Antonia Keaney - Blenheim Palace’s Historian for an intriguing virtual talk on Winston Churchill.
The private resources of Blenheim Palace were drawn upon to afford very new and refreshing insights into this remarkable man. During the talk Antonia shared fascinating information about the breadth of talent, achievement and personality of the "Greatest Briton": soldier, politician, statesman, painter, writer, orator, family man - and bricklayer!
We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed learning more about UK’s former Prime Minister.
Blooming Haus
We were delighted to join Blooming Haus’s Christmas Wreath Making Masterclass, where Master Florist, Michal and his business partner - Michael showed us the best method to create beautiful festive wreaths.
Following the tips and ideas learnt during the amazing virtual experience, we were happy to put our skills to a test and to enter the #BarchesterChristmasWreaths competition.
We all had a wonderful time creating our festive wreath/s.

International Stout Day
International Stout Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in November each year. Stouts, developed from porters in the 1700s, have become some of the most beloved beers in many different nations.
Our residents and keen beer fans tried some dark beers and cocktails along with tasty cakes and chocolate brownies.
In the afternoon we got involved in a themed quiz, which was enjoyed by all.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Sunday is a day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
During the day, our residents enjoyed putting a remembrance display together, with their own handmade wreaths and poppies, which turned out beautifully before enjoying a specially prepared afternoon tea.
We enjoyed a special church service to honour veterans and armed forces members who have died in the line of duty and we read some war poems.
It was a lovely day of remembrance, enjoyed by all.
Bonfire night
Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night is an annual commemoration observed on the 5th of November.
We spent time learning about the gunpowder plot where Guy Fawkes and his associates planned to blow up the House of Lords during the State Opening of Parliament in 1605.
In celebration, we chose a selection of fireworks and we gave our residents to some sparklers to light once the sun had set, we also watched a selection of beautiful firework displays virtually.
We all enjoyed traditional bonfire night treats, including toffee apples, treacle toffee and a traditional parkin cake prepared by the home’s chefs.
