Activities at Bloomfield Care Centre
We host a wide range of activities and events here for residents to stimulate them both physically and mentally. Relatives can often be found taking part; for example, they will some times join us on minibus trips and to enjoy entertainers and musical events. There is regular involvement from the local community, with ministers holding services for us weekly, visits from our PAT dog, and a good volunteer network. Additionally, we have recently opened a Dementia Café, which is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Activities are an essential part of residents' lives, so we strive to keep them active with a focus on what they can achieve and that life here is fun.
Cathy Jallow
Hello, My name is Cathy and I am the Activities Coordinator at Bloomfield care centre.
I joined the team here at Bloomfield in August 2017 as carer and have since moved into Activities.
The Activities role is varied and one which allows me to plan amazing activities for our residents to ensure their days are filled with lots of fun, laughter and social interaction.
I am always looking for new activity ideas as well as new places to visit, so please give me a call to discuss our life enrichment programme further.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Bloomfield Care Centre
Musical Entertainment
Memory Lane residents were entertained by Luke from Musica. We recognise the importance of music for those living with dementia at Bloomfield, and these therapy sessions are extremely beneficial and great fun too.
Love is in the Air!
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we were entertained by Brian Slade, who put on a wonderful musical performance. Following this, we enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal and popped a bottle of bubbly to mark the occasion.
Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year was celebrated at Bloomfield with a delicious menu of spring rolls, crispy won tons and sweet and sour chicken with rice for the main dish, all cooked fresh on the premises by our experienced kitchen staff. The activities team presented red envelopes containing gold chocolate money to symbolise health and good fortune.
Live Entertainment
Vocalist, Danny, is an all-time favourite of ours at Bloomfield. Everyone had a dance and a sing along to all of his songs, especially those special requests from residents and guests. The afternoon was rounded off with a delicious buffet and a Buck's Fizz toast.
Eva & Ilene
Little Eva joined us at Bloomfield last week to give some very cute cuddles! Ilene absolutely adores animals and has her own birds living with her, so she couldn’t pass up the opportunity of dog sitting and receiving such a warm welcome from Eva.
School Craft Workshop
Children from Paulton Junior School came to visit Bloomfield Care Centre recently, where they enjoyed a craft workshop with residents. This was a very interactive and rewarding activity, as both residents and the children were absorbed and focused on their creativity together throughout the session.
