Activities at our home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Christmas Spirit

Residents got into the spirit of the season and visited the Christmas market at George Square. They all loved being out and about; this is the first of the planned trips to see the lights and we look forward to many more in December.

Boy's Day Out

Some of our gentlemen enjoyed a day out to Celtic Park with a wonderful surprise – a visit from Lisbon Lion, Jim Craig, who took time out of his day to chat and show residents some memorabilia and pose for pictures. He even shared stories about his days as a Lion.

It was an all round wonderful day and the residents and staff even got to stand on the famous pitch – a privilege not many fans get.

Thank you to the tour guides and staff at the park for all their help.

Getting to Know Me

Our new Head Chef, Andy Scally, recently joined the home and has been busy getting to know residents and planning a new, delicious menu. Residents have been complimenting the baking and food that has been produced so far and we look forward to more events with amazing food.

Are You Dancing?

Some residents decided to show staff how it was done and got their dancing shoes on. With the popular show, Strictly Come Dancing, on TV, the residents have been enjoying a "wee boogie" here and there. They even suggested a reminiscence event based on their time spent at the Barrowlands. Look out for the posters.

Pride at Alexandra Court

Residents decided to show their support for Pride this year by producing their own rainbow. We talked about the progress society had made with the acceptance of people with different preferences and the residents said this was a good thing. Plus, they enjoyed the colourful activity,
