My mum has had several respite stays at Peony Court and always has a great time. There are so many activities laid on and there is a definite family atmosphere. The building is immaculate and the care given to residents and their families is second to none. Every single member of staff I have met has been lovely.

Warm thanks to Lee Goward and her colleagues and residents of Peony Court for participation in community event on 6 March (grant-aided by National Heritage Lottery fund) to celebrate the life and work of Joan Pick, a remarkable local resident. Lee and her colleagues put on a superb tea after the Mayor of Croydon had installed a plaque in a nearby public area. All who attended were most impressed by the lovely atmosphere at Peony Court, and - not least - by the lovely tea. The involvement of Peony Court in this community day does great credit to its staff and to Barchester. The community hopes that links will develop. Well done, Lee, her Peony colleagues and Peony residents who participated.

Peony is a nice and caring care home with lovely residents and staff. Sandra, the manager, is a nice lady. My mum has always been happy there for her respite stays.

The staff at Peony Court really care about their residents. They want to give them the best experience they can in those in their later years! The staff themselves are always friendly and courteous.

This is a fabulous care home, beautiful environment and the team are so friendly and welcoming. I visit regulalrly to see my friends and the atmosphere is always the same- you can feel and see the fabulous relationships between staff and residents. I recommend popping in if you are passing- the cafe is always stocked with an impressive array of fresh fruit cakes and biscuits and the coffee is excellent.

"Barchester Peony Court Care Home great strength is its carers, most of whom really do care. A wide variety of activities is available, none of which one is bullied into taking part in. The kitchen is of a very high standard, sensitive to individual dietary needs."

"I regularly visit a friend at Peony Court Care Home and in my opinion, the atmosphere is always very good, with both staff and residents friendly and helpful. The reception is always welcoming and coffee/tea and cake are always available. My friend is very happy there and the staff encourage residents to participate in activities. The home always looks clean and welcoming. The management team always listen to visitors and answers any questions."

"Mum was struggling at home. We knew we had to find a nursing home for her and we found Peony Court. Even before Mum moved they made us feel very welcome. Now Mum is there we can relax knowing she is taken care 24-7 and I have never seen her so happy. Peony Court feels like our second home every time we go we feel welcomed and there is no need to book just turn up make yourself a coffee. They also have entertainment for all the residents and take the residents out regularly in the minibus. I highly recommend Peony Court, I don't think you could find a better home. Thanks so much."

"The care and support for my mum (and me at times) from the team at Barchester Peony Court Care Home has been excellent and any minor issues that have arisen have been dealt with promptly. Being a small care home, I’ve got to know most of the team and I know my mum's welfare, both physical and mental, is at the forefront of what they do. The facilities at Peony Court are excellent and the staff have an enthusiastic and encouraging attitude to residents entertainment, offering a varied program of events."

"Having visited regularly over the past few months, I can honestly say it’s always been a pleasure. Peony is kept to a very high standard in decor and cleanliness. Staff are always kind, polite, thoughtful and welcoming, going above and beyond to help and assist. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff always have the time to talk through and implement ways for individuals if needed. On entering Peony it feels as though you are entering a 5 star boutique hotel with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Peony has definitely changed my opinion on how I perceive care homes to be, which is very refreshing. Feeling like a home from home, it made the transition so very seamless. On initially contacting the home, I was made to feel at ease and all my questions were answered with complete transparency. I cannot express my relief in finding such a diamond. As next of kin, it’s the peace of mind this care home affords you to feel, knowing your loved one is cared for in a safe and exceptional way."

"A friend that my wife and I have cared for has now moved into Peony Court. The home is amazing, warm, and welcoming, best described as a 4 star hotel. Nothing is too much trouble from any of the staff, taking time to talk to us and remembering our names whenever we visit. Our friend originally went in for a period of respite care, but has now decided to stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable, food is great (we had lunch) with a varied menu."

"My father originally went into Peony Court for a week's respite at the end of June. However, we ended up rolling the respite over for 3 months as Dad was quite happy to stay, despite the fact that he had never wanted to leave his own home. This was due to the fact that he enjoyed the company, loved the food and entertainment, and received excellent care from all the brilliant staff. We were very sad when Dad had to be transferred to another home after becoming ill and needing a higher level of care. We would recommend Peony Court to anyone considering a respite stay or permanent residency in a care home."

"The home has done a brilliant job of looking after my mum and making sure she feels safe and comfortable. The food is excellent and a lot of her anxiety has gone since she moved in. She enjoys the activities that are arranged and has been kept busy which is so important for her well-being."

"My mum has been a resident at Peony Court since February 2023. She arrived at the home with no mobility, she is now walking (with a walker). She enjoys joining in with activities within the home and going out in the minibus. The carers look after all her needs. I can get on with my own life knowing she is being well cared for."

"The elderly resident who selected me as her next of kin is a single lady and a very private person. She came into Barchester Peony Court Care Home just over a year ago on a temporary basis but is now a permanent resident. She is too frail to take part in many of the activities, but has been treated with the utmost kindness and consideration by the manager and staff. At her own home, she saw hardly anyone during and after Covid but since moving into Peony Court she has been happy to interact with some of the other residents and to sit with others at the lunch table on a regular basis. All the staff are very thoughtful and ready to think of ways to make her comfortable. We are so relieved and pleased to have found Peony Court for her."
