Scottish study gains response from charity

A major charity has responded to a groundbreaking Scottish study reported earlier this week, which concluded that babies are much more likely to have multiple sclerosis (MS) if they are born in April.

The MS Society of Scotland's David McNiven was delighted with the outcome of the report, with the representative personifying the fight against a disease which is more prevalent in his country than anywhere else in the world.

He said: "These intriguing results add weight to the evidence that the environment, and in particular sunlight, plays a part in MS and we're pleased scientists are piecing together the complex puzzle of what may cause this debilitating condition."

People with MS and their families wanting to learn more about MS will have the chance at the MS Research Day at Barts & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in London on January 30th, held in order to help people understand, treat and prevent MS as well as ask any questions.
