Playing games makes the mind younger

Playing computer games can keep your brain healthy, it has been claimed.

Experts have designed a game which trains older people to remember information while cutting out distractions.

Entitled 'Road Tour', the game was tested on men and women aged over 50 and was found to sharpen their minds.

Indeed, its manufacturers claim that ten hours gaming a week can make a person's mind three years younger. In one test the speed and attention of a person's brain as found to be seven years younger.

Professor Fred Wolinsky from the University of Iowa's College of Public Health, said: "We know that this can stop the decline and actually restore cognitive processing speed to some people. So, if we know that, shouldn’t we be helping people?

"It’s fairly easy and older folks can go get the game and play it."

The game, which is available online, features just two things to remember – cars and road signs.
