New charity single released to fund more research

A new song has been released to raise money for the Alzheimer's Research Trust (ART).

The song is named Mother and Child, and is being released by singer, songwriter actress and playwright Eleanor Bennett in the build up to Mother's Day.

Celebrating the "wisdom, love and life force of motherhood", Ms Bennett hopes that the song raises awareness of dementia while paying for vital research.

Ms Bennett has her own personal experiences of dementia, having worked in care homes in between acting and singing.

"I've seen the heartbreak in a daughter's eyes when her mother no longer recognises her and so many precious memories being stolen by this awful condition," Ms Bennett said.

Rebecca Wood, chief executive of the ART, commented: "We can't thank Eleanor enough for producing this song to help us beat dementia. The money raised will make a real difference."

The ART made their first-ever television appeal for help in funding research into Alzheimer's last month.
