Fun new 'bus stop' at Barchester care home

A pretend bus stop where residents can sit and relax has been installed in new gardens at a Barchester care home, it has been reported.

The bus stop offers a comfortable sit-down for residents needing a break outside the Austen House care home in Kilnsea Drive, the Reading Chronicle said.

Prince's Trust volunteers working in the gardens have built the fake bus-stop for residents.

Ann Garrett, activities manager at Austen House, revealed to the newspaper that many residents often say they are going home and ask where they can catch a bus.

She continued: "Now we’ve got this bus stop they can go and sit down there a little while, before they decide they want to come back inside."

Last week, residents at a care home in York were treated to a rather different fun-filled outdoor event organised by staff.

Residents at the Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home shared a teddy bear's picnic with the Stamford Bridge Early Learners pre-school club and their furry friends.
