Fashion designer to support dementia with every sale

A fashion jewellery designer is hoping to use her skills to raise awareness of dementia.

Aimee Caitlin Davidson, an entrepreneur who sells her own pieces along with jewellery sourced from all over the world, will be donating a percentage of each sale she makes to the Alzheimer's Society, The Journal reports.

The 27-year-old's grandfather is living with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 79, and she hopes that the contributions she makes and the awareness she raises will help people like him.

She told the publication: "As a child, my grandfather taught me how to paint and draw and he lit a spark.

"Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, we have seen his ability to paint some wonderful pictures completely destroyed."

The Alzheimer's Society is to host a number of dementia walks across the country this summer, in order to raise money for research into treatments and cures for the disease.
