Ex-drummer from Oasis to run marathon on behalf of Alzheimer's

Alan White, who is best-known for his sterling work with Oasis as the Britpop band's drummer for the best part of ten years, has announced that he is running on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society.

The musician has set up a Just Giving page and is looking for donations for people wanting to curb or stop dementia and Alzheimer's disease and is attempting to raise £2,000 for his charity of choice.

White was involved with the group between 1995 and 2004 but has since moved onto other projects despite keeping a relatively low profile, such as his involvement with Trio Valore with brother Steve and former Ocean Colour Scene bassist Damon Minchella, NME revealed.

While missing out on contributing to debut album Definitely Maybe, White cut his teeth on (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which spawned some of the bands most famous tunes: Roll With It, Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova.
