Dementia roadshow vehicle to visit the north-west

The Alzheimer's Society Roadshow is set to travel across the country providing information and advice to people affected by dementia.

Funded by supermarket Tesco, the vehicle will be visiting Preston next week as part of its tour of the North West, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.

As well as highlighting the benefit to patients of early dementia diagnosis, the roadshow will also answer any queries people may have about the condition.

No appointments are necessary and people who are concerned about friends or relatives, believe they may be developing dementia themselves or have general questions about it are encouraged to go along.

Katie Antill, support services manager at the Alzheimer's Society, said recent interactions have demonstrated the "positive impact" the service can have.

"One man, who stumbled upon us when he was doing his weekly shop, spoke to me about the struggle he was encountering with his wife at home," she explained.

The team advised the gentleman, who later reported said the roadshow made him feel like his "prayers had been answered".
