Care home hails proms show as 'resounding success'

Organisers of a proms event at a care home in Tadcaster have hailed the event as a resounding success.

The Proms and Picnic show was held in the grounds of Highfield Care Home, Scarthingwell, organised by the centre's activities co-ordinator Richard Sweeting, the Whetherby, Boston Spa & Tadcaster News reports.

He paid tribute to all those people within the local community who had helped to make the event possible, including music provided by Ebor Brass and the Tadcaster Grammar School Concert Band, with local radio DJ Adam Tomlinson acting as compere.

"This could not have been achieved without the help of so many people and what a wonderful partnership with everyone pulling together to make this happen, not only for our residents, but the whole of the community," Mr Sweeting told the publication.

Highfield Care Home provides 24-hour nursing care along with expert care for people with Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis or spinal injuries.
