Barchester opens independent hospital in Hull

National care provider Barchester Healthcare has marked the opening of an independent hospital in Hull by inviting local healthcare professionals to take a tour of the new facilities.

Castle Lodge is a brand new 16 bedroom purpose-designed independent hospital which will provide nursing care for people with complex mental health needs including dementia.

Staff opened the doors to health and social care professionals in the Hull area, showcasing new features such as shared activities rooms, therapy rooms and large spacious gardens.

The facility works with Primary Care Trusts in the local area and across England to provide accommodation for both formal and informal patients.

In addition to providing a high quality environment for rehabilitation, Castle Lodge will cater for the patients' well-being by using various therapeutic activities and is a member of the Star Wards project which provides practical ideas for improving patients' daily experience.

Richard Hardman, Director of Service Development & Hospitals at Barchester Healthcare said: "We are very pleased that we can provide nursing care and support for people with mental health needs here in Hull.

"Further to high quality care, we are committed to improving our patients' well being and helping them achieve their goals. Our staff at Castle Lodge take a dynamic approach to care and are looking forward to continuing to build a strong partnership with the local health and social care community."
