Barchester cleans up at national care awards

The National Care Awards, sponsored by Caring Times, are recognised as the number one awards event for long-term care, promoting excellence in the care industry.

Barchester won:

• Care Personality of the Year, awarded to Mike Parsons, founder and Chief Executive of Barchester Healthcare.
• Registered Care Nurse of the Year, went to Pauline Taylor from Badgeworth Court care centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
• Carer of the Year went to Joanne Gallagher from Oulton Park care centre in Outlon Broad, Suffolk
• Trainer of the Year was scooped by Ellen Asta Kerr from Drummond Grange care home in Lasswade, Lothian.

Entertainer Brian Conely presented the awards at the gala night on Saturday, 27 November at the London Hilton Metropole Hotel.

Mike Parsons said: “What an outstanding night! These awards are a true testament to the commitment our staff place on providing high quality care for our residents. This is just the latest of a range of industry awards Barchester has won this year. In the 12 year history of the awards no company has ever dominated them so much”
