National care provider Barchester Healthcare has been coming up trumps in all areas of business at a number of awards ceremonies.
After being rated as the Sunday Times 25 Best Big Companies To Work For earlier in March, Barchester Healthcare has been named in the Britain's Top Employers rankings.
The CRF Institute, the organisation behind the Britain's Top Employers project, aims to highlight best HR practice with the awards.
The participants were judged on the basis of their scores in the areas of Pay and Benefits, Training and Development, Career Development, Working Conditions, and Company Culture. Barchester was the only independent care provider to win the accolade.
From HR best practice to design and build excellence, Barchester's Property Development team walked away with the very prestigious Special Contribution Award at Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.
The Special Contribution Award was given to Barchester to commend 15 years of consistently high standard in care home design.
The award is selected by judges to recognise an outstanding contribution in design to improve the quality of life of the people in care and has only been given once before.
Mike Parsons, CEO and founder of Barchester Healthcare, said: "We are delighted to have picked up these awards. We believe in high quality care and this is reflected in every aspect of Barchester, from the design of our homes to our relationship with our employees. Not only have these awards cemented our position as a good employer but we can also celebrate our facilities, designed with older people in mind.
"I am particularly pleased with our achievement at the Pinders awards. In 1994 we won the care home design award for Moreton Hill and have consistently featured at the awards every year since. Moreton Hill even won another major award in 2009 as the Best Corporate Care Home in the UK – some 15 years after its opening!"
Barchester Healthcare has also recently been given a 1 Star Status in Best Companies Accreditation 2010.
The Best Companies survey is designed to measure employee engagement and uses 70 questions to gain a comprehensive view of employee engagement across eight factors.
