Meet the Moreton Hill Care Home Team

Hello my name is Portia, and I am the Deputy Manager here at Moreton Hill

I joined Barchester in August 2022, was promoted to Clinical Lead in January 2023 and am now Deputy Manager. I am a passionate Adult General Nurse trained in the UK with experience in NHS and Nursing Homes. I look forward to promoting outstanding care for our residents and supporting staff and families.

I have worked in hospitals and other hospital settings, but since I started at Moreton Hill, I feel that here is the place I will use all my knowledge to support the residents and the team.

Hello I am Michelle came to the UK in 2005 from Guyana which is the only English speaking country in South America. I qualified as a nurse in 1986 and have worked solely in the care environment working with residents with dementia and nursing needs.  I really enjoy working with the team here at Moreton Hill.

Hello I am Bessy and I have worked at Moreton Hill Care Centre since 2010.  As Unit Manager, I ensure that residents are provided with a high standard of care and quality of life.  I love Moreton Hill and working with the team and residents here.

Hello I am Jimson and I returned to Moreton Hill this year, having formally worked at the home for 10 years and8 it very much feels like I have retuned home.  I have been a nurse for 20 years, 18 of which has been in care homes, I very much enjoy working with older residents and spending time with them.

Edmorah is a passionate nurse with vast experience- she qualified in Zimbabwe in 2007 and registered as an adult General Nurse in UK in March 2019. Edmorah has a happy, bubbly personality but nuanced observations of details. Edmorah is starting her NVQ 5 in Health and Social Care with direct support from her General Manager

Eva has been a Care Home Administrator since 2016 and previously worked for a sister home in Barchester. Eva has excellent experience in Payroll, finance, contracts and people skills.

Hello.  I am Jackie, the Lead Activity Co-Ordinator at Moreton Hill. I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years. Now, together with my team and  the staff at our beautiful home, our aim is to help all residents live life to the best they can by bringing meaningful and enriching activities into their lives.

Hello I am Stuart and I joined Moreton Hill in 2021 as Head Chef.  I have enjoyed spending time enhancing the food and beverage offering, working with residents to create new menus.  I am always happy to cater for individual needs and tastes.  I also enjoy working with the activities team to plan the catering for events.  There is always a warm welcome in our cafe with a range of drinks and a different home made cake daily.

Tania started as a Health care Assistant at Moreton Hill, and when the opportunity arose she was promoted to admin –assistant. Tania was part of the management team in a supermarket chain with experience in finance and marketing.

Moreton Hill are delighted to have two Resident Ambassadors.  Moreton Hill has been home for Moira for over 10 years and Roger joined us in 2021.  Both are very caring and kind in welcoming new residents, with both originally from the North of England., Moira Cumbria and Roger Yorkshire, they also love a good chat!

Hello I am Becky I started working for Barchester in another home progressing to the position of Care Practitioner now at Moreton Hill.  I love working with the residents to enrich their lives and I am committed to quality care in our Memory Lane Community, which specialises in looking after those living with dementia.   

I am a Trainee Care Practitioner and started with Barchester in October 2021. Working with Elderly residents is one of the most rewarding jobs I could ever want. I am supported to pursue a career and develop to enrich our resident's quality of care and lifestyle.

Grace started with Barchester back in Jan 2018 and returned after maternity leave.

Hello I am Sue and I have worked at Moreton Hill since January 2013.  Along with my team we are responsible for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness around the home and in-house laundry.  I love chatting to the residents as I go around the home.
