Castle Rise is a part of Castle Care Village, a group of friendly, single-storey purpose-built homes set in a quiet environment on the eastern edge of Hull. With safe access to extensive wheelchair-accessible gardens, there is a wide selection of shops within walking distance and good public transport links.
Our home is registered to provide nursing care to people with a range of needs, including younger adults with Acquired Brain Injuries, stroke etc as well as frail older people.
The home has a focus on dignity, independence and choice, as well as emphasizing the importance of hospitality and good food and offering a wide range of activities. Care planning is the basis for care and support, and involves both residents and relatives in decision making. Individuals within Castle Rise receive advice and support from a range of health and social care professionals including dieticians and speech and language therapists.
In Castle Rise’s most recent inspection (CQC's copyright, reporting on a June 2013 visit) report the Care Quality Commission (the independent regulatory body for the care sector) noted residents remarking of the care, ‘They are good to me. Nothing is too much trouble.’ And ‘They ask me first and I decide things. Nothing is ever done unless you’ve chosen it yourself.’ Of the food residents said, ‘They come to see you about the menu for the next day,’ and ‘The food is excellent and very well presented.’ Of the service overall a resident said, ‘I’ll never forget how they welcomed me when I arrived here. They are kind and patient with me when I’m having an off day.’
We welcome visitors, so please feel free to drop in – you can also ring us at any time if you need help or advice.
