Description of home
Barchester Healthcare have designed a care home befitting the town of Cromer and in keeping with Barchester's recognised high standards of design and care. It comprises a 72 bed care home for the elderly and a specialist 10 bed unit for Young Physically Disabled (YPD).
The care home will provide accommodation which more than satisfies the standards required by the National Minimum Standards.
The 72 bed elderly care home will provide large single en-suite (with shower) bedrooms, various lounges and dining rooms as well as on-site laundry and kitchen facilities. It will include a 40 bed unit specialist "Memory Lane" Dementia Unit along with a 32 bed Frail Elderly unit.
Services within the care home will include care, laundry, housekeeping, meals as well as daily entertainment. The care home will have a dedicated garden area and various balconies for use by the residents.
Adjacent and linked to the care home will be 24 two bedroom close care apartments to be available to people who require an element of care but are otherwise able to live a more independent lifestyle. This concept allows the residents to live safely in a purpose built secure environment with all services (both care and hotel) readily available on site. The occupiers of the apartments pay a set management charge for the estate as a minimum. The apartments benefit from a call bell facility linked to the care home for peace of mind. A further menu of services is provided where any combination of care, laundry, housekeeping or meals can be ordered from the care home on an agreed basis.
The home sits in some 5 acres of land with a landscaped and managed woodland area and many seating areas.
