The right place to continue living your life

We are proud of the care home environments we create for the people we support. It’s why we are constantly looking to improve our existing buildings while also investing in new state-of-the-art ones right across the country. By 2012, our 220 homes will have grown to 234 with new developments opening in East Sussex, Surrey, Suffolk and many more locations.

Tailored to individual needs

Inside our homes, the facilities and services are carefully tailored to meet the needs of the individuals living there. Take our Memory Lane communities - our homes offering specialist services in dementia care. Rooms are often decorated with items from the past to help people recall happy times, while services include a range of therapies to keep the mind active and alert – like reminiscence therapy and music therapy. Coupled with our lively activities programme, we ensure our people are kept active and entertained.

Blooming marvellous

Outside our homes, there is lots more to do. Blessed with beautiful gardens, we make sure they play an important part, aesthetically and therapeutically, in all our lives. It’s why we launched our Barchester in Bloom competition in 2005 with celebrity gardener Charlie Dimmock. This gives gardeners, staff and the people living in our homes the opportunity to showcase their individual skills and team talents in a range of categories. Hundreds take part each year in the hope of winning the accolade for:

  • Best front garden
  • Best sensory garden
  • Best resident’s garden or project
  • Best hanging basket
  • Best creative design

We’re here to help in any way we can – whe>ther that’s finding you the right support or helping you choose the best care home environment.
