Founded in 1992 by entrepreneur and CEO Mike Parsons, Barchester Healthcare is now one of the biggest independent care providers in the UK. Originally created to provide superior nursing care to older people, our expertise has expanded significantly since then.

We’re growing

Today, we support more than 10,000 people in over 220 care homes, with services that range from dementia care to assisted living and more. High quality homes and staff have remained integral to us since the start. Many of our care homes are state-of-the-art new build developments, others have been acquired from other quality care providers. By 2012, we will operate 234 care homes right across the UK.

Meanwhile, our 15,000 staff continue to be of the happiest and highest calibre in this sector, thanks to continuous investment and development with our specialist in-house courses, programmes and master classes. We are the only care provider listed in the Sunday Times Top 25 Big Companies to Work for in 2011 – an award voted for by staff.

Today, our head office is located in Chelsea Harbour, London. We also have offices right across the UK, in locations including Berkhamsted, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Inverness.
