Tewksbury pair complete charity run for stroke unit
Dave Olczak and Andy Famer ran the Three Peaks Challenge - scaling the summits of the Malverns, Bredon Hill and Cleeve Hill - covering 33 miles of steep terrain, the Evesham Journal reports.
The two friends have so far managed to raise £1,650 for the Aspen Stroke Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital.
This particular cause was chosen after the pair's friend Chris experienced a stroke at the age of 28 and was cared for at the centre.
"He was referred to the Aspen Stroke Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital which worked closely with him at the beginning, and they were really helpful," Mr Olczak told the publication.
According to the latest research from the Stroke Association, every five minutes someone in the UK experiences a stroke, equating to around 150,000 each year.
