School pupils invited to care home to receive thank-you gift
A garden wall at Lucerne House care home was transformed by pupils from the Alphington School, according to an article in the Express & Echo.
Arty students worked together to create a seascape mural in the care home's grounds.
Residents at Lucerne House were so impressed that they decided to return the favour with a gift of their own - a solar-powered water fountain.
The school's headmistress Debbie Buckingham will be taking students back to the care home to meet residents and take receipt of the gift, which will grace the school's own garden, the newspaper notes.
Lucerne House provides 24-hour nursing care for older people, as well as specialist support for people living with dementia in its Memory Lane Community.
The facility was recently graded as "Good" by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission.
