School pupil recognised for care home dedication
Eilidh Murray of Beeslack Community High School was awarded Penicuik and District Community Council's Community Quaich in recognition of her work in a local care home, the Midlothioan Advertiser reports.
As a Beeslack befriender, Miss Murray gives much of her spare time freely to the local Drummond Grange care home, taking time to chat and listen to residents on a regular basis.
Drummond Grange care home is located on the edge of Lasswade, a village on the North Esk river just six miles outside of Edinburgh.
Providing 24-hour care alongside expert dementia services in the Memory Lane Community, the facility was recently rated 'Very Good' by the Scottish Care Regulation Commission.
Miss Murray was also recognised during the award ceremony for the assistance she offers pupils in her school, participating in the Paired Tables Team to support younger pupils with their maths skills.
