Welsh Assembly addresses dementia debate
The Welsh MP is hoping to carry out a 12-week consultation in a joint campaign with the Alzheimer's Society, which aims to draw together current strategies and policies with a number of new actions for the NHS in Wales to adhere to deliver better services.
Ms Hart said: "Dementia is a distressing and debilitating condition for the individual and can be equally as distressing for their loved ones. It will affect us all in one way or another in our lifetime."
Ian Thomas, the director of the Alzheimer's Society, explained that this situation provided an "unrivalled opportunity" for people across the country to give their views on the likes of dementia and Alzheimer's disease and could help prevent 50,000 people having the condition in Wales in 20 years time.
Last week, the University of California in Los Angeles found that those with memory problems who are depressed are much more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease.
