Red wine 'can help a person think'
According to the group of researchers based at Northumbria University in Newcastle, a control test of 24 adults was found to perform much better in mental arithmetic tests after being given reveratrol, a chemical compound commonly found in red wine.
The substance is already linked to lowering such chances of cancer, obesity, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, highlighting the qualities it can bestow on the human brain.
Commenting on the tests, researcher Emma Wightman said: "It is interesting that a component you come across in many everyday foods can have a positive effect on brain function."
According to a compiled report by Natural News last month, red wine has also been linked to having positive effects against breast cancer and liver damage.
