Pratchett to open RICE centre
Having moved from St Martin's Hospital to its new home in the Royal United Hospital in Bath, the charity is particularly close to Mr Pratchett - who discovered he had the disease earlier this year - as it is in the town he once worked in.
According to RICE: "The new centre has space to enable RICE to expand its research programme and already has more staff undertaking important research including a two-year study to look at the quality of life for those affected by dementia."
The official opening will take place on December 5th and will celebrate the facilities with the general public.
Last week, Mr Pratchett personally delivered a petition with over 20,000 signatures to Downing Street in order to highlight the possible "tsunami" of Alzheimer's disease which the UK could be faced with in the next two decades.
