Beaumont in Bloom award winners announced

The winners of the Beaumont in Bloom Barchester Healthcare gardening competition have been announced.

To coincide with the Barchester in Bloom award ceremony in Kew Gardens this week, celebrity gardener Charlie Dimmock also presented the winners of the Beaumont in Bloom gardening competition awards.

The Beaumont in Bloom competition was hugely successful, with many care homes making their gardens more accessible to residents and improving the sensory aspects of the areas for dementia patients.

Ms Dimmock said: "I am pleased to have been given the chance to present the awards to the winners of the Beaumont in Bloom competition."

The winner of the Barchester Healthcare garden of the year was the Prestbury Beaumont Care Community, in Cheshire.

Other winners included the Oxford Beaumont Care Community in Oxford for best front garden, the Wimbledon Beaumont Care Community in London won the best hanging basket category and the best resident's garden went to the Bushey House Beaumont Care Community in Hertfordshire.

Ms Dimmock added: "The standard of entries was incredibly high and I'm sure the judges had a difficult time choosing the winners. It is wonderful to see that the hard work that the staff, residents and their families put into the gardens has really paid off and hopefully they enjoyed doing it too."
