Celebrity chef Paul Rankin and Ground Force presenter Charlie Dimmock joined over 300 of Barchester Healthcare's managers, including the home managers and support teams from around the UK, to celebrate the tremendous success the number one provider of quality care homes has enjoyed over the past 12 months.

The three-day conference, which took place from November23th to 25th, was held at the prestigious Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport, South Wales.

The theme running throughout the meeting was 'Passionate about Quality' reflecting Barchester's constant pursuit of high standards throughout their homes.

Charlie Dimmock, Barchester Healthcare's favourite celebrity gardener, presented awards to the winners of its competitive Barchester in Bloom national garden competition earlier this year. Michelin award-winning chef, Paul Rankin, awarded prizes for the Barchester Chef competition in June.

Both celebrities were present at the conference and Paul Rankin staged a 'can't cook, won't cook' type demonstration, putting two of the Directors through their culinary paces, amidst much hilarity.

The key note speaker was Jim Lawless, an expert in self and team motivation and leadership techniques. Jim addressed the care home managers with a powerful speech on leadership where he described everyday living as writing the story of our lives.

He said: "As Barchester Healthcare managers, you have the honour and responsibility of writing the next chapter in the lives of your residents and staff members at your homes. It is so easy to forget the impact you as a leader have on the people around you."

Over the past year, Barchester Healthcare has gone from strength to strength, proving once again that it is the number one provider of luxury care homes in the UK. The conference also celebrated the highly successful integration of Westminster Health Care over the last 12 months.

Mike Parsons, managing director at Barchester Healthcare said: "We are delighted to celebrate the past year?s numerous successes, which we will continue to build on and provide even better quality care to all our residents.
