Worcestershire

Many great things and inspiring people have come from Worcestershire, from the composer Edward Elgar to Morgan sports cars, Malvern Spring water and, of course, Worcestershire sauce.  It’s a beautiful county in the heart of England, nestling between the rolling Malvern Hills and the honey-coloured Cotswold villages.  Worcester city itself – the county’s only city – sits on the bank of the River Severn and is most famous for its Cathedral.  Both the Severn and Worcestershire’s other river, Avon, offer fantastic fishing and boating, and riverside trails for walking or cycling.  The towns of Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport-on-Severn and their surrounding villages in the north of Worcestershire form the Forest of Wyre district.  Meanwhile Malvern, to the south of the county, originated as a spa village, known for the therapeutic qualities associated with its natural springs.  The steam trains of the Severn Valley Railway complete the picture-perfect Worcestershire scene.
