Awel-y-Mor is a rehabilitation centre providing high dependency care, active and slow-stream rehabilitation and respite care. We welcome young physically disabled adults who have experienced traumatic or acquired brain injury, spinal injury or who have other physical disabilities and complex needs. We also provide care for young people who suffer from congenital illnesses and those who have learning disabilities.

Award Winning Care

A local music therapist from Awel-Y-Mor has successfully won the 'Diverse Services Champion Award' at national care provider Barchester Healthcare's Care Awards 2011. Anwen Mulligan, who works at the home in Swansea, was selected from more than 600 entries from all over the UK. She was presented with a trophy at a glitzy awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. The annual Barchester Care Awards celebrate the amazing standards of care Barchester Healthcare staff provide to their residents in homes across the UK.

St Patricks Day Celebrations

Staff and residents celebrated St Patrick's Day at Awel-Y-Mor in style. Many chose to dress-up in traditional Irish colours, and indulge in a pint of Guiness or two! A great time was had by all.

Ruth has been General Manager at Awel y Mor for over 10 years. She manages all aspects of Awel y Mor whilst providing support to meet the needs of all individuals in the home.She's a qualified nurse with a background in brain injury rehabilitation.

Activities Team

Awel y Mor's Activities Team consists of 4 activities co-ordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept. Our experienced in-house therapy team comprises 3 chartered physiotherapists & an occupational therapist. They provide specialist neurological physiotherapy and occupational therapy services. Between them they have over 25 years experience in this field.

Anwen Mulligan is our full time Music Therapist and Jayne Slatterly is the Music Therapy Assistant. Their work involves one-to-one therapy sessions along with group music sessions.
