Awel-y-Mor is a rehabilitation centre providing high dependency care, active and slow-stream rehabilitation and respite care. We welcome young physically disabled adults who have experienced traumatic or acquired brain injury, spinal injury or who have other physical disabilities and complex needs. We also provide care for young people who suffer from congenital illnesses and those who have learning disabilities.

Award Winning Care
A local music therapist from Awel-Y-Mor has successfully won the 'Diverse Services Champion Award' at national care provider Barchester Healthcare's Care Awards 2011. Anwen Mulligan, who works at the home in Swansea, was selected from more than 600 entries from all over the UK. She was presented with a trophy at a glitzy awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. The annual Barchester Care Awards celebrate the amazing standards of care Barchester Healthcare staff provide to their residents in homes across the UK.
St Patricks Day Celebrations
Staff and residents celebrated St Patrick's Day at Awel-Y-Mor in style. Many chose to dress-up in traditional Irish colours, and indulge in a pint of Guiness or two! A great time was had by all.
Ruth Lloyd - General Manager
Ruth has been General Manager at Awel y Mor for over 10 years. She manages all aspects of Awel y Mor whilst providing support to meet the needs of all individuals in the home.She's a qualified nurse with a background in brain injury rehabilitation.
Anne Marie John - Deputy Manager
Anne marie has extensive experience in the acute sector managing clients with stroke and physical disability. She has recently been appointed and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.
Rebecca Davies - Administrator
Rebecca has worked for the company for over 10 years.She is responsible for administration & all financial aspects related to the running of the home. She is ably assisted by her team who are always on hand with a friendly welcome & offers of assistance.
Dave John - Head Chef
Dave has been Head Chef at Awel y Mor for over 10 years. He runs a well organised kitchen, ensuring a varied menu prepared to the highest standard. The kitchen has been awarded the Gold Award and is Hospitality Assured.
Jo Boyes - Housekeeper
Jo and her team work hard to ensure that Awel y Mor maintains its high standards in laundry and cleaning..
Mervyn John - Maintenance
Mervyn is responsible for maintaining the grounds and buildings, and maintaining a safe environment in which to live and work..
Activities Team
Awel y Mor's Activities Team consists of 4 activities co-ordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept. Therapy Team
Our experienced in-house therapy team comprises 3 chartered physiotherapists & an occupational therapist. They provide specialist neurological physiotherapy and occupational therapy services. Between them they have over 25 years experience in this field.
Anwen and Jayne - Music Therapy Team
Anwen Mulligan is our full time Music Therapist and Jayne Slatterly is the Music Therapy Assistant. Their work involves one-to-one therapy sessions along with group music sessions.
