Denbighshire

Stunning countryside, bustling market towns and many centuries of rich heritage make Denbigshire a special place.  Famous for being the oldest inhabited part of Wales, many of its sites date back to the ancient, mystical times of King Arthur.  It’s no surprise then that it’s home to Wales’ largest Medieval Festival, staged annually over the second weekend in August at Bodelwyddan castle, with re-enactment groups travelling from far and wide to perform.  The rest of the year, alongside tourism, Denbigshire’s 100,000 population rely on agriculture and dairy farming for their economy.  Whether it’s history or pleasure people are after, there are enough museums, scenic walks, canal boat rides, water sports and beautiful beaches to keep everyone entertained.
