Badgeworth Celebrate Burns Night
Badgeworth Court celebrated Burns in style. A piper visited residents in their rooms and in our memory lane units. He was then joined by a harpist, where they entertained residents with music and dancing in the main lounge. After residents gathered together in the dining for a themed lunch with the traditional piping in of the haggis.
Fundraising for The Butterfly Garden
Badgeworth Court raised £200 for a local charity, The Butterfly Garden. This is an educational, gardening and land skills project and is open to all students with learning difficulties. Chris Evans launched the project in 2002 on family owned land and hard work and determination have transformed two acres of virtual wilderness, which now boast a classroom, wildlife garden, ornamental gardens, greenhouse, vegetable plot, chickens and ducks.
Halloween at Badgeworth
Staff and residents joined together to celebrate Halloween. Staff dressed up for the main event in the lounge which had been decorated by our Activities Co-ordinator, Brenda. The judging of the decorated pumpkins was followed by singing and dancing and tea and cakes which had been decorated in the theme of Halloween. During the celebrations I also heard that one of our residents, Marilyn had won the Barchester Christmas Card Competition, so was able to pass this good news onto everyone!

Badgeworth Court Harvest Festival
Staff and residents were joined by the Revd Sarah Dangerfield to celebrate the Badgeworth Court Harvest Festival. After scripture readings and a selection of hymns a lovely ploughman's supper was served in the beautifully decorated dining room. Most of the fine produce on display had been grown by our volunteer gardener Ken.
Badgeworth Boat Trip
Residents and staff joined locals of Gloucester on a fabulous boat trip down the River Severn. Passengers were entertained by a fabulous singer with lots of audience participation of singing and dancing and a lovely lunch. The sun was shinning and all had a wonderful time.
