'Ladder to the Moon' visit Chacombe
Residents enjoyed a fun filled day when The Ladder to the Moon Theatre Company helped us produce our production of The South Pacific. A coach arrived with actors, props, a cameraman and the stage was set for a great day of entertainment and the making of wonderful memories. Residents took great delight in acting out scenes such as a romantic scene and a marriage proposal. Ladder to the Moon is a social enterprise company working with Barchester enhancing the positive emotional experiences for residents in supporting the ethos of delivering person centered activities within the home.

The Haleys celebrate 66 years of marriage at Chacombe Park
Peter and Liza Haley, residents at Chacombe were delighted to be surprised with a romantic candle lit luncheon, champagne and flowers to celebrate 66 years of marriage. Peter met Liza at the end of the war in Germany where he was serving as a Captain in the Intelligence corps. On the 5th November 1945 Peter managed to get a five week visa for Liza to visit the UK. Peter and Liza were married just before the visa expired on the 20th December 1945. Peter and Liza's love and devotion continues as they live and enjoy the qualities of Chacombe Park together.

Santa visits Chacombe Park
Santa visits Chacombe Park The morning started with Santa and his helper surprising delighted residents through the home delivering good will and presents. Ruth Dale provided the afternoon party spirit by singing festive favourites this encouraged Val to dance straight away as she loves music as her Father used to play the piano to her regularly. Paul the chef created a stunning buffet, the fun and laughter continued with the activities department ensuring the room was filled with giggles due to their very imaginative party games!
