Ashby House Care Home

Welcome to the relaxed and happy lifestyle of Ashby House

Ashby House is set in a quiet corner of Milton Keynes but is only a short drive from many of the famous landmarks of the city. These include Milton Keynes shopping centre, the theatre district, Milton Keynes General Hospital and Stadium MK, home to the MK Dons. The home is situated close to the A428, 5 miles drive from junction 14 of the M1.

Ashby House offers the flexibility of day care, respite care for short breaks and permanent care for those who can no longer live at home. We have a Memory Lane community specialising in the care of residents who have a dementia type illness and a residential / nursing community.

We are very excited to have made some major changes to our Memory Lane Community. We have created two smaller units, allowing residents at different stages of their dementia journey to live together in a more homely and cosy environment. We have added a life skills kitchen to enable residents to participate in some basic cooking and meaningful tasks such as washing and drying up.

We have a varied and exciting social calendar and are always ready to celebrate any occasion. Our hospitality includes first class dining, with all meals cooked on the premises using locally produced, fresh ingredients.

We warmly welcome visitors, so if you’d like to arrange a viewing of the home, or to find out more about the services that we offer at Ashby House, please contact our manager, Nicky Cahill, or one of our lovely team members who would be delighted to help.

We look forward to meeting you.

Enjoying the Spring Sunshine

All of the residents and staff at Ashby House have been making the most of the spring sunshine and have been sunning themselves in our Memory Lane gardens. We had plenty of pansies left for residents to pot, hopefully bringing some vibrant colours for all to enjoy. It was interesting to see some of our residents teaching staff how to plant!!! Some residents chose to sit and watch all of the workers while enjoying the warmth from the sun.

MAYOR ATTENDS OPEN DAY AT ASHBY HOUSE

Ashby House held an open day for healthcare professionals from the surrounding area. The idea was to build on the relationships Ashby House has with healthcare professionals and develop better connections between the home and other services in the community. Ashby House is keen to nurture this type of contact and is already an important hub for the community, including links with local businesses, charitable groups and older people living in the neighbourhood. More than 25 healthcare individuals and the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Catriona Morris, attended the event. They enjoyed learning more about the services Ashby House provides and the supportive network that local community professionals can help provide. Nicky Cahill, Manager at Ashby House said: “This is a great way to showcase the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at Ashby House. Through working together, we can improve the lives and opportunities of the residents that live here.”

The Music-Man

Friday Afternoon Social It's surprising how many staff and residents remember the words to all the old classics.

Games and Activities

The meeting of minds. I think the game is supposed to be four in a row not six in a row!! The referee was not paying careful attention.

Father's Day

A special Father's Day meal for our residents and their families on the 16th June.

National Care Home Open Day

On Friday the 21st June, in celebration of the ‘National Care Home Open Day’, Ashby House would like to invite all residents, families and friends of Ashby and the local community to our Ashby-By-The-Sea Beach Party.
