Annual Summer Fayre
MAYOR DELIGHTS AS SHE OPENS LOCAL CARE HOMES ANNUAL SUMMER FAYRE Sherwood Lodge and Sherwood Court care homes in Fulwood, were thrilled to welcome The Mayor of Preston Councillor Roberta Cartwright and her consort Neil Cartwright to the homes Summer Fayre on Saturday 23rd July. The sun shone all afternoon and residents, relatives and local residents enjoyed a wonderful variety of stalls and activities. The event helped raise over £660 for the residents funds and the whole event was a true testament to the hard work from both activities teams in getting the event organised.
Award-winning care
An apprentice from Sherwood Lodge has successfully won the Apprentice/Learner of the Year Award at Barchester Healthcare's Care Awards 2011. Rebekah Leigh Heyes was selected from more than 600 entries from all over the UK. She was presented with a trophy at a glitzy awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. The annual Barchester Care Awards celebrate the amazing standards of care Barchester Healthcare staff provide to their residents in homes across the UK. The awards recognise those employees who have made a special difference to residents' lives.
