Encompassing 32 London boroughs and the City of London, Greater London is renowned the world over. Officially created in 1965, but dating back centuries, today this region spans 607 square miles (or 1,572 square kilometres), which means a population density of 4,761 people per square kilometre – more than ten times that of any other British region.
