Barnet

Most famous for being an ancient market town and the location of the Battle of Barnet in 1471, today, this north London borough is 33 square miles in breath, home to over 330,000 people and located a mere 10 miles from the capital’s city centre.  Despite proximity to the London, Barnet has worked hard in recent years to develop its parks and open spaces, enhancing the local environment and increasing people’s quality of life.  In 2009-2010, seven of its parks were awarded Green Flags, a national benchmark that recognises and rewards green spaces in the UK.  There is also currently a Premier Park within one mile of the majority of homes in the borough.
