Carer/Support Worker of the Year

A local carer from Hethersett Hall has successfully won the 'Carer/Support Worker of the Year Award' at national care provider Barchester Healthcare's Care Awards 2011. Barbara Jackson, who works at the home in Norwich, was selected from more than 600 entries from all over the UK. She was nominated for Carer/Support Worker of the Year and was presented with a trophy at a glitzy awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham. The annual Barchester Care Awards celebrate the amazing standards of care Barchester Healthcare staff provide to their residents in homes across the UK.

Hethersett Hall Honey Bees

With there being a shortage of honey bees throughout the country last year, we at Hethersett Hall decided to help the situation by having a bee hive. With help from local beekeeper Gill Tinsey we installed a hive and 60,000 honey bees which was very successful as we had almost 50lbs of lime and lavender honey last season. We have now installed a second hive to help improve the pollination and honey bee stocks, and we hope to have more honey as a result.

Race for Life 2011

The Race for Life events are now starting. Some team members from Hethersett Hall are entering the 10k race on Saturday 14th May at 10am to raise money for Cancer Research UK. We hope to raise as much money as we can for this very important charity. If you would like to support us on the day you will see us there in our pink Hethersett Hall t-shirts. Our Hethersett Hall runners are: Carol Norton, Lisa Parsons, Caroline Tyrrell, Sue Trowse, Christine King, Carol Hicks, Danielle Seaman, Julia Cooper, Annabell Wingels and Alice Reinbach.

History Day

On Saturday 7th May 2011 Hethersett Hall hosted a local history day, where local historian Bill Reekie gave a talk and slide show about Hethersett and surrounding areas. We had a wonderful turn out and everyone enjoyed listening to the talk and the slide show. Visitors took away a brochure put together by General Manager Carol Norton, that explained the history of Hethersett Hall. We would like to thank everyone who attended and if anyone would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact Carol Norton or Lisa Parsons.
