Swanton Care Centre

Your home, choices and support

Swanton Care Centre provides the environment in which to support younger people with mental health and learning difficulties. We support people to enable them to lead a positive and fulfilling life to achieve personal goals and ambitions.

The team at Swanton Care Centre works closely with the individual, their family, the local community and professionals to develop a structured and meaningful person-centred programme of care and support, with a real focus on individual outcomes.

We have a strong community integration focus and promote access to social, health, education, and employment opportunities; supported by our links with community initiatives, local schools and colleges.

Everyone is different, so we work with people in different ways. Individualised support is at the heart of what we do. We help to identify specific needs and wishes, and offer a range of accommodation and support options that suit individual lifestyles and needs.

We encourage people to make choices and take control, through individually designed and personalised support planning, direct decision making and personal development.

Swanton Care Centre is set in extensive and attractive grounds and has a variety of local amenities close to the villages of Melton Constable and Swanton Novers in North Norfolk.

How to Find Us:

Christmas at Swanton

This Christmas, to bring a real festive feel to the home, we decided to decorate the entire site with snowing icicle lights. As the light faded and the smell of the roasted chestnuts filled the air, Father Christmas made his eagerly awaited appearance in his grotto, everyone received a gift, and one or two even managed to grab a cheeky kiss! Prancer & Dancer the reindeer enjoyed all of the attention and remained calm and friendly throughout. We also had a London red double decker bus, where tea/coffee/mulled wine and mince pies were served by Father Christmas's little elf helpers.

Farm Visit

'Let nature feed your senses' is a big lottery funded project which is run in partnership between LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and the Sensory Trust. Their aim is to engage people with nature, food and farming on a network of farms and nature reserves across England. A few of our residents enjoyed a visit to Grange Farm were we went along to help bottle feed the lambs. The day was such a success we are now looking to make this a regular activity.
