Ashlar House Care Home

Welcome to the relaxed and happy lifestyle of Ashlar House

We provide first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in our Memory Lane Community.

Our team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focus on the individual needs of our residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

And our dedication can be seen across the board - in our cooking, hospitality and organising activities for our residents.

Ashlar House is a purpose built care home set in peaceful surroundings in the beautiful Epping Forest; within easy access of Epping town. Both inside and out, this home is designed to provide a pleasant living environment combined with the highest levels of care for those who choose to stay.

We have recently refurbished three courtyard gardens themed "seaside", "sensory" and a "working" garden where we all potter and relax.

It is our philosophy that Ashlar House exists for the people we support, and life does not stop because the individual needs care.

We think you'll find we're ideally suited to meet your needs now and in the future.

Why not arrange a visit and see for yourself!

NOW OPEN - The Ashlar Club, a friendly, warm and welcoming day care centre dedicated to providing expert care for people living with dementia.

Music Therapy

We are highly focused on the role music plays in the wellbeing of individuals who are living with dementia. We have a MusicTherapist, Roddy, who works in the home two days a week, alongside our regular Activities Team. Roddy will focus solely on various musical aspects of care. He will often be seen playing specific requests for individuals or leading small groups in sing-a-long sessions of the well known songs. Roddy operates under the umbrella of Nordorff Robbins a nationally recognised music therapy organisation.

Pets at Ashlar

We are very aware of the impact that pets can have on wellbeing. So, we have a lovely fish tank, with a variety of colourful fish in one of our lounges. We also have guinea pigs and the manager's dog, Megan, often comes to visit - she loves being stroked and pampered by our residents.

NOW OPEN - The Ashlar Club

Our day centre opens from 10:00 am each morning (Monday to Friday) with a welcoming cup of tea and biscuits. There is a programme of activities and events to suit individual needs, which include various life skills; for example growing vegetables in the garden, participating in quizzes, or baking biscuits and cakes, all designed to enable guests to continue to retain their life skills. Following the morning's activities a three course lunch is served.
