NEW CARE HOME MANGER AWARDS LONG SERVICE!
Sue Scarlett , the new care home manager at Hickathrift, presented Kanita Oakley-Kierman with a prestigious Barchester Service Award for her 20 years' service at the home. Kanita Oakey-Kierman, now an Administration Assistant, started at Barchester in April 1992 and has worked with families and residents to ensure that their needs have been met over the years. Sue Scarlett, staff and residents at the local care home gathered to commemorate Kanita's hard work at Hickathrift House. Sue said: "I am delighted to join the team here at Hickathrift and I'm enjoying meeting and getting to know our residents. It is good to know that Kanita has been a loyal and respected member of the team and is still enjoying working at this marvellous home. 80th Birthday Celebrations at Hickathrift
Resident Pearl Allen celebrating her 80th birthday, all the residents enjoyed tucking into the cake prepared by our kitchen staff!
Valentine's Day at Hickathift
In honour of Valentine's Day, staff dressed down in pink or red to mark the occasion, and donated money to the residents "Make a wish fund". Residents enjoyed a special Valentine's lunch and they were served a menu that had been chosen by them. Also, each of them received a single red rose from the staff. Pyjama Day Fundraiser
Please see a picture of the team at Hickathrift wearing their pyjamas. Apart from having a lot of fun, the team also raised money for a special day out for one of the residents.
Christmas 2011
A good time was had by all on Christmas Day 2011, Staff handed out presents to all of the residents and they tucked into a full Christmas dinner prepared by our kitchen staff.

Sue is the General Manager, her role is to manage all daily operations within the home and ensure that residents experience exceptional service and person-centred care.

Elizabeth Wade, Kelly Harding and Ceri Mills - Unit Managers
Elizabeth, Kelly and Ceri plan, organise and manage the unit and all resources therein. They supervise staff, carry out regular appraisals for staff, and report any problems as appropriate. They assess staff rotas, provide professional leadership and generally see to the well being of the clients.
